Links for Lunch: Mayfield, Students, Raidertron

Sep 24, 2011; Lubbock TX, USA; The Texas Tech Red Raider Mascot performs pushups for the student body after the Red Raiders scored a touchdown against the Nevada Wolf Pack in the fourth quarter at Jones AT

Take a gander at some cools things we found…

Have a Sticker: ESPN.com’s Max Olson gives out Big 12 helmet stickers for week two performances. Baker Mayfield gets some love for putting up gaudy numbers in just one half of football Saturday night.

Powering Forward: Jake Trotter of ESPN.com’s Big 12 blog moves Tech up to fifth in this week’s power rankings but keeps TCU just ahead of the Red Raiders at number four. I guess we’ll see very soon.

Unsung Bradley: After two games, eight receptions, 150 yards and two touchdowns, including a 60-yarder Saturday night, Bradley Marquez indeed proved himself to be an unsung hero.

Not Bad for a Fish: Mayfield ranks third nationally with 780 passing yards even though he’s played only six quarters of football. Ben Kercheval with Bleacher Report thinks Mayfield could be the next Johnny Manziel.

Thank You, Come Again: Texas Tech students shattered the old attendance record on Saturday. This Thursday they have a chance to do it again and blackout the stadium in the process.

Fearless on the Big Screen: If you weren’t able to make it to the game on Saturday, check out the intro video that christened the new Raidertron. Lots of legendary names make appearances.
