Brewer Transfers to Virginia Tech

Former Red Raider quarterback Michael Brewer announced on Sunday that he’s transferring to Virginia Tech after graduation in May. With his degree in hand, Brewer will be immediately eligible to play for the Hokies in the fall. However, while he is in a good position to win the starting job at VT, he’s not a shoe-in according to Brian Leigh over at Bleacher Report. Spring Practice Kicks Off in Lubbock

Spring practice returned to the Tech football training facility on Wednesday and we brought you the highlights, including Webb’s new role as THE guy at quarterback and the return of D-coordinator Matt Wallerstedt for a second year. We also broke down the most recent depth chart, who will get the reps in practice, and what holes are yet to be filled by fall enrollees.

Kingsbury Lands No. 1 Dual-Threat QB for 2015

Late last night, the nation’s best dual-threat quarterback announced on Twitter his verbal commitment to Tech.

A five-star prospect by 24/7 Sports, Stidham chose Tech over offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Oregon, Florida, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Baylor and many more.

Big, big, huge get for Kingsbury. Stidham may be the first domino to fall in what could end up being a top 25 recruiting class.

Tech Basketball Beats Texas on Senior Day

A great week of Tech athletics ended with a bang Saturday night as Tech men’s basketball took down the Longhorns 59-53 on senior day at the United Spirit Arena. Senior Jaye Crockett, playing his final game in Lubbock, finished with 22 points to lead all scorers and added 10 rebounds for the double-double. Heck of a way to go out.
