NFL Draft Outlook: Jace Amaro

There hasn’t been a player as highly regarded going into the NFL Draft from Texas Tech since Michael Crabtree when he was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers. Jace Amaro is among the top tight ends in this year’s class and listed as number two on most boards. CBS Sports has him as the second ranked tight end and the 38th best prospect overall. He is most likely to go in the later half of the first round or early on in the second round.

Teams that could target Amaro:

Arizona Cardinals – The Cardinals are in need of offensive weapons to be able to compete in the NFC West. Amaro is a weapon not only as a tight end but as a slot receiver where he played most of his collegiate career.

Green Bay Packers – The Packers have most likely lost Jermichael Finley and Amaro is almost identical to him in terms of play. He would be a solid weapon for Aaron Rodgers, as he doesn’t have a true number one receiver.

New England Patriots – The Patriots have lost tight end Aaron Hernandez due to his legal issues and Rob Gronkowski had some injury issues last season. Amaro could compliment Gronkowski as well as give Tom Brady another weapon.

Buffalo Bills – The Bills could ultimately take Eric Ebron with their top ten pick, however they have other needs as well. If the Bills go offensive line or linebacker with their first pick, Amaro could be their target in the second.
