The Texas Tech mens track team will be ranked in the top 10 at No. 9 as they enter the NCAA championships on June 11th. The women’s track team will also have a high ranking at No. 15 nationally before they enter the NCAA championships at the same time. The Red Raider track and field team will officially enter the NCAA Championships next week at Hayward Field with a top-10 national ranking as announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association today.
The Red Raiders, Champions of the Big 12, received a No. 9 computer ranking marking the squad’s ninth consecutive week inside the top-10. Tech is one of just six programs nationally to boast a men’s team inside the top-10 of the national rankings for nine or more consecutive weeks this season.
The Lady Raiders, meanwhile, remained steady at No. 15 marking their third consecutive week inside the top-15.
Texas Tech, after competition at the NCAA West Preliminaries last week, will be represented by 12 qualifiers at the NCAA Championships. The national meet is scheduled for June 11-14 at Historic Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene.
The Red Raiders finished 24th at the 2013 NCAA Championships – their fourth consecutive top-25 finish at the national meet.

An overwhelming response from the Texas Tech fan base secured all available seats for the upcoming super regional against the College of Charleston in less than an hour.
Baseball season ticket holders that have not been able to secure their super regional seats will have until 5 p.m. today to do so.
Texas Tech has held 350 complimentary seats for students and those tickets can be claimed on a first-come, first-served basis. Those tickets can be claimed starting at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the athletics ticket office in the north end of Jones AT&T Stadium.
