Texas Tech-Ole Miss CWS Preview

The first ever College World Series game for the Red Raiders was both thrilling and devastating as Tech fell just short to conference rival TCU 3-2. A costly throwing error and a base running mistake changed the whole nature of the game in just a matter of minutes.

Not all is lost though.

In this double-elimination format, the Red Raiders will get a shot at redemption against Ole Miss tomorrow at 2pm.

The Rebels (46-20) also lost a tough game to the Virginia Cavaliers 2-1 on Sunday and will have their backs against the wall as they face the Red Raiders.

Tech will need to figure out quickly how to score with runners in scoring position tomorrow, an area of their game they’ve struggled in all postseason. If they can get their starting pitching to be anywhere near lefty Chris Sadberry’s level on Tuesday, they will have a chance to win this game.

Sadberry pitched seven innings, allowing just one run on three hits in a stellar starting performance against TCU on Sunday.

With both teams having their backs against the wall, it should be an “all in” type performance for both the Red Raiders and Rebels.
