The most important position in sports is the quarterback. Due to the fact that Texas Tech football did not sign a quarterback in its 2015 recruiting class (because there are great pickup truck deals to be had in other parts of Texas) the most important position on the field is also the most critical position for Kliff Kingsbury to solidify in the 2016 class.

The Red Raiders focused on only two quarterbacks in the 2015 recruiting cycle in Allen, TX’s Kylar Murray and Stephenville, TX quarterback Jarrett Stidham. And when Stidham committed, Tech stopped communicating with other targets at that position. Thus, when he decomitted in early December, Tech was forced to scramble to find a quarterback. Ultimately they were unable to build the relationships necessary to land a signal-caller for 2015.

The following slides analyze some 2016 quarterbacks that the Red Raiders could, or should, land in this class.
