The fast-paced spread offenses of the Big 12 Conference have proved all but insurmountable for defensive backfields around the league.
Contesting the schemes from the likes of Texas Tech, West Virginia, Baylor, and TCU, Big 12 secondaries typically have more receivers to cover over a greater width of the field, have less time to react (quicker quarterback reads), less help from their defensive front seven due to pace of play, and in the worst case, a highly-athletic QB that can pick up yards on the ground.
Sithout further ado, (and an extremely minimal intro because this list requires no introduction), here’s how I feel the 2015 Big 12 secondaries rank.
