No. 7 Rodney Allison

A west Texas native from Odessa, Allison started for Texas Tech from 1975-1977. In all three seasons, he led Texas Tech to a bowl appearance, a rare feat for the program at that time.

Allison was named the MVP of the Southwest Conference in 1976 after guiding Texas Tech to a 10-1 record a conference co-championship (shared with Houston).

An all-around athlete, Allison threw for 2,847 yards and rushed for 1,093 more in his collegiate career. He was responsible for 34 touchdowns while at Texas Tech and guided the Red Raiders to 23 wins in three years, one of the most successful three-year spans in Texas Tech history at the time.
