Super Bowl XLV – Graham Harrell

As a backup quarterback for the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XLV, Graham Harrell would be crowned a world champion just an hour away from where he grew up. Though he did not play in the 31-25 Green Bay victory, the Ennis, Texas native celebrated with his teammates as they hoisted the Lombardi Trophy in Cowboys’ Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The Red Raiders’ career passing yardage and touchdown pass leader was a backup to Green Bay’s all-Pro quarterback Aaron Rogers from 2010-2012.

While at Texas Tech from 2005-2008, Harrell threw for 15,793 yards (4th in NCAA history) and 134 touchdowns (which was an NCAA record at the time and still ranks 3rd in college football history). He led the 2008 Texas Tech football team to a dramatic victory over No. 1 Texas when he connected with Michael Crabtree on a 28-yard touchdown pass with seven seconds left to play in the game. The win vaulted the Red Raiders to No. 2 in the national polls for the first time in program history.
