Texas Tech Baseball gets a huge new addition
Texas Tech baseball has announced that it will have a huge new addition this season. But this exciting addition will not be throwing strikes or hitting home runs. Rather it will be in the form of a giant new video board just above the center field fence.

On Tuesday, Texas Tech announced via twitter that the instillation of the larger video board had been completed.
As the tweet says, the board was funded by the Fearless Champions fundraising campaign which began in 2014 with the hopes of raising $185 million in private donations to upgrade athletic facilities across the Texas Tech campus. Included in the plans for athletic facilities upgrades are renovations to the south end of Jones Stadium, a new indoor football practice facility and a new indoor track complex among other lesser projects.
The new video board at Dan Law Field is just the latest in a series of recent upgrades to the Texas Tech baseball facility. In 2011, a $5 million facelift to the home of the Red Raider baseball team was set into motion.
That project added extra seating to bring the stadium’s capacity to 4,900 as well as added a new club area, a new press box and a new structure to shade the central portions of the grandstands.

Now, Texas Tech has added one of the largest video boards in the nation to what has become a premier college baseball facility. The new screen is 48-by-22 feet, more than doubling the size of the old board, which was 15-by-20 feet.
Another enhancement to the Texas Tech baseball facility is the instillation of a new field turf playing surface. The turf on Dan Law Field had not been replaced since 2007 and needless to say, Texas Tech baseball head coach Tim Tadlock is excited about the upgrades to his home park.
"“These enhancements…can’t be understated, and doing both projects at once says a lot about Texas Tech’s commitment to our student-athletes and fans,” Texas Tech baseball head coach Tim Tadlock said “The new FieldTurf surface being installed on Dan Law Field is an incredible investment in our student-athletes safety and performance, and it will also be a big selling point as we continue to recruit future Red Raiders here to Texas Tech.”"
Texas Tech baseball opens the 2016 season on Friday February 19th with a three-game series versus Milwaukee. This season will see Texas Tech host non-conference series against Cal State Fullerton, San Diego State as well as Big 12 sets against Oklahoma, Texas and West Virginia.
