The Texas Tech football team received a verbal commitment from Mineral Wells, Texas offensive tackle Troy Bradshaw.  He is one of three offensive linemen to verbally commit to the Red Raiders on Sunday.

Troy Bradshaw, a 6-foot-7, 280-pound offensive lineman from Mineral Wells, Texas has committed to the Texas Tech Red Raiders.  He visited Lubbock earlier in the month and pulled the trigger Sunday afternoon extending what has been an amazing week for Texas Tech football on the recruiting trail.

Since June 12th, nine players have committed to Texas Tech.  That came on the heels of almost three months in between verbal commits for 2018.

Bradshaw is rated by 247sports.com as a two-star recruit.  He holds six scholarship offers including Tech, Illinois State, Liberty, Louisiana-Monroe, New Mexico State and Texas State.

247sports.com rates him as the No. 120 tackle in the nation and the No. 254 prospect in Texas.  Bradshaw was also a member of the Mineral Wells basketball team last season.  He earned all-district honors in football as he helped the Rams advance to the second round of the playoffs.

The most noticeable trait Bradshaw displays is solid footwork.  He looks like a fundamental player that keeps a wide base in pass protection which helps him stay on balance.

However, he plays with an unacceptably high pad level.  This is not surprising given his height.

Another concern is his slender build.  He is one of the leanest offensive line prospects to sign with Texas Tech in the Kingsbury era.  He would benefit from a redshirt year in the weight room because he needs to add some serious strength to be able to compete in the Big 12.

There is reason to believe that Bradshaw can fill out to become a prototypical tackle because he has the body type of an athletic offensive lineman.  He projects as a tackle at the next level because his height will make it challenging for him to get low enough to play on the interior of the offensive line.
