Currently, Peterson does not have a ranking from 247Sports.com but that does not mean he is not a legitimate prospect. In addition to Texas Tech, Peterson has offers from Washington State, Colorado, Nevada, North Texas and SMU among others. Additionally, he has garnered interest from TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Colorado State and Baylor.
The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder possess fantastic agility and moves more fluidly than most high school offensive linemen his size. That is likely a result of his background playing a multiple sports growing up. He told 247Sports.com that soccer was his primary sport as a kid and his soccer background seems to have made him nimble on his feet.
He also has a fantastic frame that should allow him to easily add the wight necessary to hold his own in the Big 12. Peterson was the left tackle last year for Permian and he looks to be a potential prototype tackle at the next level.
Texas Tech has done a fantastic job recruiting offensive linemen in recent years by making the position group a top priority in each class. As a result, the Red Raiders are in great shape for 2018 returning five players with starting experience from last season. Additionally, Tech has a strong two-deep featuring second-team members that are former 4-star recruits and who have made numerous starts for the Red Raiders.
With only two senior offensive linemen on the roster (Paul Stawarz and Jack Reichel), that depth only stands to improve moving forward. But that likely will not preclude Kingsbury from taking another 4-5 member offensive line class in 2019.

Another offensive line target to recently receive an offer from Texas Tech is Taylor Miterko from Carlsbad, New Mexico and there are likely to be plenty more high school offensive linemen on Texas Tech’s board. A program can never have too many quality offensive linemen so it is wise for Kingsbury and his staff to keep grinding away on the recruiting trail and trying to ensure the position remains a strength moving forward.
