Former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury is a hot name in the coaching world despite being fired just three days ago. It appears that the offensive guru will not be unemployed long so let’s take a look at some lading spots that would make the most sense.
Only in the bizarro world of sports would it be logical for a man who was recently fired for not performing his job well enough to become one of the hottest names in the same industry. But that is what has happened since Texas Tech fired Kliff Kignsbury on Sunday.
Almost as soon as Kirby Hocutt announced that the university had relieved its head coach of his duties, speculation began about what Kingsbury may do next. But virtually everyone agrees that he will not find it hard to secure gainful employment.
Kingsbury is not being sought after as a head coaching candidate but rather as an offensive coordinator. And given that spread offensive principles have become commonplace in the NFL as well as in college, there are more high-profile opportunities for Kingsbury now than there would have been even just a few years ago.
In fact, long time NFL scout Gil Brandt said on Twitter Tuesday that Kingsbury would be in high demand in the NFL.
The phone of former Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury has been ringing off the hook from NFL teams, including two that have given him firm offers. College offense has infiltrated the NFL and Kingsbury's superb knowledge of it is in high demand.

The game of football has evolved at the highest levels. A premium has been placed on scoring points and creativity in the passing game is valued like never before. And there may be no one at any level of football more highly-regarded as an offensive innovator than Kliff Kingsbury.
Keeping in mind that this is not a list based on inside information but rather a look at situations that would present the best opportunities for Kingsbury, let’s take a look at some potential landing spots that might make sense for the former Red Raider head coach.
