LB: Brad Hastings, Shawn Banks, Sam Eguavoen, Micah Awe

Arlington linebacker Brad Hastings was one of the first high-profile recruits to play for the Red Raiders.  And from 1983-86, he racked up 480 tackles, which was the school record at the time and still ranks second in program history.

A third-team All-American in 1986 and three-time all-SWC honoree, he set the school record with 171 tackles in 1995.  That mark is also currently second-best in Tech history.  Additionally, his 153 tackles in 1986 are the fifth-most by a Red Raider.

Dallas Carter product Shawn Banks also makes this roster.  Playing from 1992-95, he racked up 365 tackles, 7th-most in Tech history.  Banks paired with Red Raider legend Zach Thomas to form the best linebacking duo in program history and he helped the Red Raiders capture their first Southwest Conference title in his senior season.

Two linebackers with remarkably similar careers round out the DFW linebackers.  Sam Eguavoen from Garland had 225 tackles and 3.5 sacks from 2011-14 and his teammate Micah Awe from Arlington amassed 263 career tackles and 1.5 sacks while playing for the Red Raiders from 2012-15.  These two would be rather interchangeable in this defense so to pick a starter, you could basically just flip a coin.

Another excellent position group for the DFW team, this linebacking corps has everything you would want.  With Hastings and Banks to stuff the run in the middle and Eguavoen and Awe using their athleticism to roam from sideline to sideline, this is a group that would be a rather formidable force in the middle of any all-time defense.
