Right tackle: Terence Steele

With 47 career starts, Terence Steele is our right tackle.  Though he spent time at left tackle in 2017, he excelled the last two years in Lubbock on the right side of the line.

More from Wreck'Em Red

After redshirting in 2015, he was a member of the All-Big 12 Freshmen team in 2016 and an honorable mention all-conference honoree in 2017.  He was also a reliable player who started 37-straight games from 2016-18 before missing the first two games of this past season.

As a high school prospect, he was actually a rather low-rated 3-star player.  Only the No. 179 tackle in America in 2015, his career surpassed expectations for a player of his prep school prestige.   In fact, Tech was his only Power 5 offer to go along with BYU, UTSA, and North Texas.

The San Antonio native was set to be the Red Raiders’ starter at left tackle this year after he and fellow senior Travis Bruffy swapped positions in the offseason.  But by the time he was ready to come back from an offseason upper-body injury in week three, Bruffy had played so well on the left side that Steele returned to his familiar spot on the right side of the line.

This is also a great place to honor the efforts of Baylen Brown, who played all five positions along the line during his time in Lubbock from 2013-16.  In 2015, he made 11 starts at right tackle, including against LSU in the Texas Bowl
