25 points, 7 assists @ Iowa State

Just like in the TCU game in Lubbock, when the Red Raiders went to Ames to play Iowa State, nearly everything went right for Chris Beard and his team.  That was the case for Ramsey who had 25 points and 7 rebounds in an 87-57 blowout victory.

Leading his team in scoring, he took a team-high 22 shots, making 11.  That included 2-5 from 3-point range.

But what made this game even better was the fact that Ramsey had seven assists and five rebounds.  Both were areas in which Beard often wanted more from his star than he got on a nightly basis.

His assist total in Ames was a season-high and his rebound total was tied for second-most this year.  He also came up with a pair of steals while turning the ball over only once.

Unfortunately, this would be Ramsey’s last big game of the year.  Not coincidentally, it would also be his team’s final win.

As Tech ended the year with a four-game losing streak, Ramsey managed to average just 8 points per game while not topping 13 points in a single contest.  What’s more, he was held scoreless against Oklahoma in Oklahoma City and he had just six points against Kansas in Lubbock.

Often, Ramsey had huge games against lesser teams or when the Red Raiders didn’t necessarily need him to be their savior as was the case against an Iowa State team that had essentially thrown in the towel on the season after losing their best player, Tyrese Haliburton. But as we will see in the top two games on our list, he did come close to carrying his team to wins over two of the top teams in the nation.
