No. 4: Antoine Wesley 2018

Antoine Wesley‘s junior season was one of the most improbable in program history for a number of reasons.  That year, he caught 88 passes for 1,410 yards (3rd-most in program history) and 9 TDs.

One of the reasons that this was truly an unbelievable season was the fact that prior to 2018, Wesley had caught a total of just 10 passes for 137 yards.  Another reason is that he put up this fantastic season despite the fact that the Red Raiders started three different QBs for at least two games.

The biggest performance of Wesley’s 2018 was his school-record 281 yards against Houston.  That day, he also had 3 TDs among his 13 receptions.

He also had 12 catches and 199 yards against Oklahoma in a game that saw Alan Bowman start but Jett Duffey finish the game after Bowman left at halftime with a collapsed lung.  Those were two of his six 100-yard games that season.

After that season, Wesley made the premature decision to head to the NFL and forego his senior season.  Unfortunately, he was not drafted, and perhaps he would have been better served by coming back and putting up another solid season.  But the one standout year he did give the Red Raiders was one that we won’t soon forget.
