KSU is the worst rushing team in the Big 12

Remember the days when the Wildcats relied on the ground game as their primary means for moving the ball?  The days when even the Wildcat QBs were more of a threat with their legs than their arms?

Those days seem to be over.  In 2020, the Wildcats are the least productive Big 12 team when it comes to rushing the football.

In fact, at just 78.5 yards per game on the ground, they are averaging over 20 yards fewer per game than the No. 9 team, TCU.  What’s more, they are running for more than 73 yards less per outing than Tech is.

Last year, in their 30-27 win in Lubbock, the Cats racked up 126 yards on the ground.  The year prior, they ran for 154 in a 21-6 victory at Snyder Family Stadium.

As for the Tech defense, they sit at No. 5 in the Big 12 against the run at 121 yards per game.  But last week, Texas gashed them for 214 yards and a pair of TDs on the ground.

No KSU player has yet topped the 100-yard mark on the ground this year.  Thus, Tech needs to make certain that the Wildcat rushing attack remains dormant on Saturday.
