No. 6: Oklahoma

Sure, OU is 0-2 in conference play and their only win on the year is over mighty Missouri State.  But they still may be the most talented team in the league on a player-by-player basis.

The problem for the Sooners right now is that they can’t hang on to the football.  With a turnover margin of -4 for the year, they are negating their talent advantage and letting teams like Iowa State and Kansas State pull off upsets.

Four of the six OU turnovers on the year have been interceptions by QB Spencer Rattler.  That included a three-turnover game for the redshirt freshman in the home loss to Kansas State two games ago.

Moving forward, Rattler’s development will be intriguing because he’s the first starting QB of the Lincoln Riley era that is not a transfer from another Power 5 program.  While there’s no reason to believe that the uber-talented Arizona native won’t eventually become a star, there’s a question as to whether it will be this year or whether he will have a season of taking some lumps as is often the case for young QBs.
