WR Blair Conwright is a Lubbock native
The rest of TCU’s skill position players are mediocre at best. But Red Raider fans may want to keep an eye on inside receiver Blair Conwright, a product of Coronado High School.

In fact, Conwright has some Texas Tech blood running through his veins. His mother is the Lady Raiders’ all-time leading scorer, Carolyn Thompson.
But Tech didn’t offer Conwright a scholarship and instead, he wound up in Fort Worth where he’s developing into a nice player. Just a redshirt freshman, he has caught 13 passes for 184 yards and a TD. His yardage total is good for third on the team and he will get plenty of opportunities to make his hometown team suffer this weekend.
TCU’s second-leading receiver is Quentin Johnson who has 224 yards on just 12 receptions. That’s an average of 18.7 yards per reception.
However, no other Frog has caught double-digit passes or has topped the 100-yard receiving mark. In all, it’s a rather average receiving corps in Fort Worth.
Unfortunately, though, pedestrian passing teams can still feast on the Red Raiders. We’ve seen Iowa State’s Brock Purdy throw for 302 yards against Tech, which is 84 more than he’s averaging thus far in a surprisingly average 2020 season by his standards.
What’s more, Jarrett Doege from West Virginia put up 347 yards against the Red Raiders in Lubbock. That is 66 yards more than he’s been throwing for on average this year.
Still, this TCU offense is not one that should scare any Red Raider fan. But that doesn’t mean that these three weapons are to be taken lightly because just about any Big 12 team is capable of putting up numbers on this Red Raider team, especially with all the injuries Matt Wells and Co. are having to manage on that side of the football.
