Texas Tech football: Red Raiders vs. Tarleton State broadcast info, forecast, and game notes
Tonight, the Texas Tech football team will try for a third time to earn its first win of 2023. That should happen given that the week-three opponent is FCS foe, Tarleton State.
The Texans come to Lubbock with a 2-0 record on the year. In their wins over McNeese and North Alabama, they eclipsed the 50-point mark while running an offense that is grounded in “Air Raid” principles that many Texas Tech fans might recognize.
Head coach Todd Whitten is in his 14th season with the program. He has a record of 96-50 and is the all-time winningest head coach in Tarleton history.
Only four years into their time as an FCS member, the Texans have amassed three straight winning seasons. However, they have never met the Red Raiders on the gridiron.
They do have experience playing major-conference teams though. Last year, they lost to TCU 59-17 in Fort Worth.
