We’re now two games into the 2025 Women’s College World Series and the Texas Tech Red Raiders still haven’t gotten a shot to make their mark in Oklahoma City. That’ll change soon enough though as TTU and Ole Miss will meet up in the third game of the 2025 Women’s College World Series.

However, before the Red Raiders get to make their first ever appearance in a Women’s College World Series, we’ll get to watch a former Big 12 team face off against a longtime member of the Southeastern Conference.

Technically speaking, this will happen twice prior to Texas Tech’s game against Ole Miss. Because in game one, we’ll see the Texas Longhorns meet up with the Florida Gators. In game two? Well, we get to see the Tennessee Lady Vols face off against the Oklahoma Sooners.

Which, well, that’s an unenviable task. Patty Gasso has built a remarkable dynasty for the Sooners and they’re an incredibly dominant force. Tennessee isn’t a bad team by any stretch of the imagination, but OU is just flat out a really challenging team to beat on a regular basis.

Oklahoma enters this game with a seven game winning streak, including a couple of really impressive wins over the Alabama Crimson Tide during the Super Regionals. Tennessee, meanwhile, managed to bounce back against the Nebraska Cornhuskers to take the final two games of their Super Regional.

Tennessee has a really proud tradition of winning at a high level and Oklahoma is one of the most dominant programs in all of sports right now. Which team comes out on top here?
