We’re about to see a college softball team sent home from the 2025 Women’s College World Series. The Ole Miss Rebels and the Oregon Ducks are meeting up in Oklahoma City in game 6, which happens to be part of the elimination bracket.

And of course, it’s absolutely worth remembering that the loser of this game will be headed home. The winner gets to stay alive and play some more and will get to meet up with the loser of the matchup between the Texas Tech softball team and the UCLA Bruins in the next round of the tournament.

So, there’s a bit of pressure here. Win and you’re still in. Lose and it’s done. It’s never fun to be sitting this close to the end of a season. If something goes wrong for your favorite team, it’s pretty much over! So, it’s definitely a good thing the Texas Tech Red Raiders managed to beat Ole Miss yesterday to avoid being in this position.
