What happens when the Arizona Wildcats meet up with the Colorado Buffaloes in Boulder this weekend? Well, one of these teams with just one win in conference play will have to come away with a win, I suppose.
The Arizona Wildcats (1-3 in Big 12 play) and the Colorado Buffaloes (1-4 in Big 12 play) are having a hard time getting wins against conference teams. Now they’re set to meet up with one another this weekend.
And that’s going to be interesting.

Is it even worth Texas Tech fans trying to keep up with Arizona vs. Colorado?
I mean, not really. Not in my opinion at least. I don’t think this game has any sort of meaningful impact on Texas Tech. Unless either of these coaching jobs opens up, that is. That’s the only way that several of this week’s Big 12 games MIGHT have anything that resembles an impact on the Texas Tech football program.
And I really don’t know what either Arizona or Colorado would do if they were to be in need of a new coach. I don’t suspect Colorado will go looking for a new coach unless they absolutely have to. Yeah, they’re struggling this year and haven’t been great, but Deion Sanders has been able to very quickly inject some life into that program and make it interesting.
Arizona needs some help. The Wildcats have taken a pretty noteworthy step back after Jedd Fisch left. Maybe they make a move this cycle when just about everyone else decides to jump into the coaching carousel? I guess that could have a downstream impact if they hire someone from a team that decides to hire either Shiel Wood or Mack Leftwich? Or maybe they hire Wood or Leftwich directly?
I don’t know. All of that feels like quite a bit of a stretch. I doubt this game drastically impacts Texas Tech in any sort of way, but dumber things have happened.
