BYU’s season was really, truly special pretty much all the way through. The Cougars managed to go 11-2 as a whole and finished in second place behind the Texas Tech Red Raiders after suffering two losses (the only two losses on BYU’s schedule) to the Texas Tech football team this season.

Again, BYU had a good year. Among others, BYU went out and managed to beat the Utah Utes, the Colorado Buffaloes, Iowa State Cyclones, TCU Horned Frogs, and the Arizona Wildcats. That’s a solid season to talk about.

On the other side of things is the Georiga Tech Yellow Jackets, who went 9-3 overall and 6-2 in a bizarrely crowded ACC this season. Georgia Tech managed to start the season with eight straight wins before suffering three losses down the stretch of their final four games to end this season in a bit of a frustrating way.

Still, Brent Key has done a great job in Atlanta and the fact is this program has a shot to go out and get a 10th win this season. That’s really impressive as well.

BYU Cougars vs Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets stat comparison

When it comes to moving the ball, BYU is scoring 31.9 points per game while generating 397.5 total yards of offense per game. On the other side of the ball, teams are scoring just 19 points per game against BYU while gaining just 328.4 yards per game.

Georgia Tech, meanwhile, seems to rely a little bit more on offense than defense to win games. The Yellow Jackets are averaging 33.1 points per game and gaining 466.3 total yards of offense per game. Defensively, Georgia Tech is allowing just 25 points per game while giving up 397 total yards of offense per game.
