This weekend, the Texas Tech Red Raiders are heading east to meet up with the UCF Knights in what could be a sneaky good game. I’m not totally sure of what to expect from UCF as the Knights look pretty solid in so many areas. Add in the fact that they’ve got an identical overall record to that of the Red Raiders and it’s fair to say that Texas Tech shouldn’t overlook that matchup.

But that’s not the only men’s basketball game in the Big 12 this weekend. There are, in fact, five other Big 12 men’s basketball games happening on Saturday.

And you should absolutely check them out.

Complete Big 12 men’s basketball schedule, January 31: Everything you need to know to keep up with Big 12 basketball

Here’s what the Big 12 basketball schedule looks like in its entirety for Saturday, January 31:

  • Texas Tech Red Raiders at UCF Knights - 11 a.m. CT - ESPN2
  • Cincinnati Bearcats at Houston Cougars - 11 a.m. - FOX
  • Arizona Wildcats at Arizona State Sun Devils - 1 p.m. - TNT/TruTV
  • Baylor Bears at West Virginia Mountaineers - 3 p.m. - ESPN2
  • BYU Cougars at Kansas Jayhawks - 3:30 p.m. - ESPN
  • Oklahoma State Cowboys at Utah Utes - 5 p.m. - ESPN2

Outside of the Texas Tech game against the UCF Knights, there are a couple of other games that should be of interest to Texas Tech basketball fans.

First, at the same time as the Red Raiders’ matchup with UCF, the Houston Cougars are facing the Cincinnati Bearcats. That likely won’t be a stumbling point for UH and it’s in the Bayou City, but it’s still worth keeping an eye on the score of that one given the Big 12 basketball standings.

Similarly, as the Arizona Wildcats try to stay perfect, they’re going to Tempe to meet up with the Arizona State Sun Devils in a rivalry matchup. Again, Arizona likely wins this one with ease, but it never hurts to just check in.

Elsewhere in the conference, both the BYU Cougars and the Kansas Jayhawks are meeting up in what could be the most competitive game of the weekend. And also Kansas is Texas Tech’s next foe. Might not be a bad idea to watch that one as well.
