The 2025 college football season is just around the corner, which means it’s time for fans to go over and argue about all of the theoretically possible different scenarios for the way this year might play out. From individual teams to dissecting the way a conference championship race could shake out, college football fans are going to examine just about anything and everything.

And that’s definitely true in the Big 12, where any number of teams will have a very real shot at competing for the conference championship this season. We could see a ton of different scenarios play out for the Texas Tech Red Raiders and just about every other member of this conference.

The parity in this particular conference makes the league a little chaotic (but also a lot of fun) and it’s going to be thrilling to keep an eye on this year.

Kelley Ford illustrated just how chaotic this year’s Big 12 race could be and, well, there are several teams clustered near the top of the conference. Texas Tech is in that cluster, for what it’s worth.

It’s just such an interesting grouping of teams.

Big 12 fans sound off on conference standings preseason projection ahead of 2025 college football season

And here’s what Big 12 football fans had to say about Ford’s projections.

Yeah, that’s gross but also probably pretty fair, this conference is a mess sometimes and that makes it so much fun.

This is one of my favorite parts about the Big 12. It’s chaotic. There’s an abundance of parity and it really seems like any number of teams have a very real shot at legitimately competing for the conference crown in any given year. That rocks.

Some folks weren’t so happy with the projected standings. Which, you know, that’s kind of fair.

It’s going to be fun to see how this all plays out. The Big 12 is such an underrated conference and it’ll be fascinating to see who comes out on top of it this season.
