Well, the Knights are technically undefeated in the second iteration of the Scott Frost era of UCF football. The Frost 2.0 era down in Orlando got started with a *checks notes* uh, win, over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.

The win was a little underwhelming. Yes, UCF managed to tack up over 400 yards of offense, which is great. The Knights happened to throw the ball for over 300 yards, which is great. But none of what happened really made it seem like things really worked out for Frost and the Knights in the way that they wanted it to.

This game was likely pretty frustrating for UCF fans. And for the Big 12 as a whole, it likely wasn’t what the conference wanted to see as it works to establish itself a bit more firmly amongst the overall national landscape.

And of course, a game like this is sure to get plenty of reactions from people on social media.

Big 12 football fans are sounding off after UCF struggled to survive a matchup with an uninspiring Jacksonville State team

Here’s what folks had to say about this game:

There were some folks were happy to see the Knights come out on top of this one (and most of them were UCF fans).

Other folks weren’t so happy for Frost and the Knights.

And then there’s folks in the middle. Happy to get a win, understanding that the win probably should have been by a wider margin. Things can be nuanced.

But yeah, this isn’t a great look for UCF or the Big 12. This isn’t the sort of team that the Knights should have struggled against. Frost and the Knights do have some time to get some of this figured out, but not too much. A game against North Carolina A&T next week and then a bye before matching up with the North Carolina Tar Heels might help.

But on September 27, Big 12 play will begin for the Knights as UCF will go to Manhattan, Kansas to meet up with a Kansas State team that wants to prove it’s one of the best in the conference. Oh, and UCF will be in Lubbock before we know it as well. Texas Tech gets to host Frost and the Knights on Nov. 15. We'll see how they're doing when they come to town then.
