Three days. A bunch of football games. Week 1 of the 2025 college football season is here. And thankfully, it doesn’t all happen on Saturday. Because of some clever scheduling, we’ll get to watch college football on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The Big 12 has four games on Thursday, three games on Friday, and then eight games happening on Saturday. Plenty of Big 12 football happening all around.

Here’s what the Big 12 football schedule looks like this week:

Big 12 college football schedule, Thursday, August 28:

  • Jacksonville State vs. UCF at 6 p.m. in Orlando, Florida
  • UT Martin vs. Oklahoma State at 6:30 p.m. in Stillwater, Oklahoma
  • Stephen F. Austin vs. Houston at 7 p.m. in Houston, Texas
  • Nebraska vs. Cincinnati at 8 p.m. in Kansas City, Missouri

There’s not much that is all that interesting in the Big 12 happening on Thursday, but that Nebraska vs. Cincinnati matchup might be fun to pay attention to. I don’t expect UCF, Oklahoma State, or Houston to really struggle (though SFA is supposed to be a pretty solid FCS team). Cincinnati? I’m not expecting the Bearcats to come out of that matchup with a win.

Big 12 college football schedule, Friday, August 29:

  • Wagner vs. Kansas at 6:30 p.m. in Lawrence, Kansas
  • Auburn vs. Baylor at 7 p.m. in Waco, Texas
  • Georgia Tech vs. Colorado at 7 p.m. in Boulder, Colorado

I love this slate of games. I absolutely love it. I don’t really care all that much about the Wagner vs. Kansas portion of this schedule, but Georgia Tech and Colorado? That could be fun. Auburn vs. Baylor? That’ll be interesting. I’m VERY much so here for these three games on Friday.

Big 12 college football schedule, Saturday, August 30:

  • Robert Morris vs. West Virginia at 1 p.m. in Morgantown, West Virginia
  • South Dakota vs. No. 22 Iowa State at 2:30 p.m. in Ames, Iowa
  • North Dakota vs. No. 17 Kansas State at 6 p.m. in Manhattan, Kansas
  • Arkansas-Pine Bluff vs. No. 23 Texas Tech at 6:30 p.m. in Lubbock, Texas
  • Portland State vs. BYU at 7 p.m. in Provo, Utah
  • Northern Arizona vs. No. 11 Arizona State at 9 p.m. in Tempe, Arizona
  • Hawai’i vs. Arizona at 9:30 p.m. in Tucson, Arizona
  • Utah vs. UCLA at 10 p.m. in Pasadena, California

And here we go.

We’ve got a bunch of games going on on Saturday. Only a handful of these are truly interesting in terms of quality football and such. And outside of the Texas Tech game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, the Utah vs. UCLA game in Pasadena is probably the most intriguing game that I want to keep up with on Saturday.
