Week 1 is just about done. The Texas Tech Red Raiders were able to easily secure a solid win over the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions (to the tune of a 60-point margin of victory, which is pretty impressive). Honestly, most of the Big 12 did pretty solid throughout the past few days.
I mean, we only had a small handful of teams suffer losses in Week 1. But it’s not like Baylor, Cincinnati, and Colorado lost absolutely awful games.
As a whole, I feel like the conference did a pretty solid job. And for the most part, it seems like things are going well for most teams in the Big 12.

Yes, it’s early. Correct, we haven’t even seen every Big 12 team in the conference play during Week 1 because of TCU’s matchup with North Carolina on Monday. I get it, it’s only week 1. But man, it sure is interesting seeing Iowa State at the very top and Kansas State at the very bottom.
And it’s not that we just saw that one game between the two of them that is making that interesting to me. It’s the game that followed for Kansas State. Because sure, that Farmageddon matchup in Ireland is what shapes these standings in the most significant way. It’s the only Big 12 conference game played so far.
But Kansas State just about lost to North Dakota out of the FCS on Saturday. And while they escaped with a win, that was close. A 3-point win at home in Manhattan. And it’s going to be something worth keeping an eye on because of how close it was.
