Friday evening, way out west in Arizona, the Arizona Wildcats managed to take care of business when facing off against Kenny Dillingham and the Arizona State Sun Devils. When facing off against the Sun Devils, Arizona managed to completely and totally shut down the Sun Devils offense while also taking advantage of a multitude of turnovers.
It didn’t matter that Arizona State struck first. The Wildcats were able to respond and take control and just grind out a win by outlasting the Sun Devils and avoiding mistakes and mental errors and turnovers.
Arizona is now 9-3 overall and 6-3 in Big 12 play with this win. The Sun Devils are also 6-3 against Big 12 teams, but are 8-4 overall due to their early season loss against Jeff Lebby and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Given how rough the 2024 college football season was for the Wildcats, there’s no way Arizona isn’t absolutely thrilled with the way this game played out on Friday. This is a team that managed to go from just getting four wins a season ago to jumping all the way to a 9-win regular season. We’re talking about a Wildcats group that could get to 10 wins with a bowl game. That’s huge.
