As the college softball season continues, a total of four Big 12 teams have the opportunity to partake in some midweek matchups (and that includes Gerry Glasco and his Texas Tech softball team, who will be facing the ACU Wildcats in Abilene this evening).Â
None of tonight’s matchups are conference games, but some of these teams could really benefit from getting the chance to play and getting an opportunity to build momentum.Â
Tuesday evening’s Big 12 softball schedule: Texas Tech among the four Big 12 softball teams in action
Here’s what the Big 12 college softball schedule looks like for Tuesday:
Northern Iowa vs Iowa State: 4 p.m. in Ames, Iowa - ESPN+
With the way the Texas Tech Red Raiders managed to run right past Iowa State in a 3-game sweep that was full of run-ruled beatings, the Cyclones could benefit from a midweek game that helps them get back on track. The Cyclones are also running out of time to make a postseason push. So if they want to make the NCAA tournament without an issue, they better hurry up and get some wins.
Houston vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi: 4 p.m. in Corpus Christi, Texas - ESPN+
The Houston Cougars haven’t been having much fun in recent weeks and their record so far reflects that. At 17-21 overall and 1-11 in Big 12 play, the Cougars are at the very bottom of the Big 12. They’re on the road and have a chance to get a win against the Islanders. We’ll see what they can do.
Incarnate Word vs. Baylor: 5 p.m. in Waco, Texas - No broadcast option available
The Baylor Bears are in the midst of the Big 12 standings and they’ve been pretty steady so far. They do need a win though and this Tuesday evening matchup with Incarnate Word might just be what Baylor needs before getting back into Big 12 action.
No. 2 Texas Tech vs. Abilene Christian: 6 p.m. in Abilene, Texas - ESPN+
Gerry Glasco and the Texas Tech Red Raiders have already beaten the ACU Wildcats once in a 24-0 run-rule game back in late February in Lubbock. Tonight’s matchup will probably yield pretty similar results as they face off in Abilene this evening.
