The Utah Utes aren’t any good. They’re not having a good season. In fact, Utah happens to be among the worst teams in the Big 12 (they are the worst team in the Big 12). There’s just nothing going right for Utah at the moment. And that certainly included their matchup with the Arizona State Sun Devils.

Now, Arizona State may have beaten Texas Tech, but the Sun Devils also aren’t all that impressive of a team. They’re just, you know, not consistently all that impressive. There was that win over the Red Raiders, but there haven’t been a ton of those.

So, Arizona State beating Utah by 13 points really didn’t do a ton to shift things in the Big 12 standings, but there are some minor changes that we do need to note because of the Sun Devils’ 73-60 win over Utah.

Big 12 men’s basketball standings: Utah continues to have a miserable season as the Utes lose to Arizona State

With Arizona State getting the best of Utah, here’s what the Big 12 standings look like following that conference matchup:

  • Arizona Wildcats - 26-2 overall, 13-2 Big 12
  • Houston Cougars - 24-5 overall, 12-4 Big 12
  • Iowa State Cyclones - 24-4 overall, 11-4 Big 12
  • Kansas Jayhawks - 21-7 overall, 11-4 Big 12
  • Texas Tech Red Raiders - 21-7 overall, 11-4 Big 12
  • UCF Knights - 20-7 overall, 8-6 Big 12
  • BYU Cougars - 20-8 overall, 8-7 Big 12
  • TCU Horned Frogs - 18-10 overall, 8-7 Big 12
  • Cincinnati Bearcats - 16-13 overall, 8-8 Big 12
  • West Virginia Mountaineers - 16-12 overall, 7-8 Big 12
  • Colorado Buffaloes - 16-13 overall, 6-10 Big 12
  • Arizona State Sun Devils- 15-14 overall, 6-10 Big 12
  • Oklahoma State Cowboys - 17-12 overall, 5-11 Big 12
  • Baylor Bears - 14-14 overall, 4-11 Big 12
  • Kansas State Wildcats - 11-17 overall, 2-13 Big 12
  • Utah Utes - 10-19 overall, 2-14 Big 12

I mean, Utah is just flat out a bad team. There is absolutely no way that they’re having anything that resembles fun right now. Something tells me that the sooner this season ends, the better Utah basketball fans will feel.

And what’s interesting about this game is that the Utes had an early lead here. They looked decent (not good) very early on. Ultimately, that didn’t matter. Utah is now 2-14 and they are at the absolute bottom of the Big 12 right now. Which, you know, not ideal.
