Look, with the way the Texas Tech Red Raiders handled business against the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2025 Women’s College World Series, it’s not shocking that a ton of people are having fun right now. There are plenty of Texas Tech softball fans enjoying themselves and having a ball.

But Texas Tech fans aren’t the only ones chiming in on social media and having some fun seeing Oklahoma lose.

Take the Big 12 conference for example. I, for one, love seeing them enjoy this moment.

Folks, they’re having a blast right now.

Big 12 conference sure seems to enjoy seeing Texas Tech Red Raiders beat Oklahoma in Women’s College World Series

I appreciate the snark here. It’s fun.

Not that I think a reminder is necessary, but it is fair to remind everyone here that, just in case you somehow don’t remember, the Big 12 and the University of Oklahoma are pretty familiar with one another.

For good reason.

Not that long ago, the Sooners were once a really successful and solid member of the Big 12 conference and just a few years ago decided to cause a little chaos in the conference by leaving (with Texas) to go to the SEC. They won a few Women’s College World Series championships here and there as a member of the Big 12.

But nowadays, they’re in the Southeastern Conference. And like all of the other SEC teams that Texas Tech has met up with and faced off against in Oklahoma City so far, Oklahoma lost. I have no clue if that trend will continue on, but the Red Raiders currently have three wins in OKC. Two are from facing off against SEC teams.

Now there’s just one more SEC team in the Red Raiders’ path. The Texas Longhorns and the Texas Tech Red Raiders will meet up in the Women’s College World Series championship series. We’ll soon see if Gerry Glasco and the Red Raiders can pull off a couple more wins against an SEC opponent on this stage.
