The 2026 women’s basketball regular season is wrapping up for the Big 12. It feels like the season just started, but here we are with March right around the corner. Seriously, it’s crazy, time has flown so quickly. We’re two months into the year.

Anyway, as the regular season comes to an end, the TCU Horned Frogs are holding the top spot in the Big 12 right now. It’s a bit frustrating that the Texas Tech Lady Raiders are on the outside looking in of that discussion, but it’s still been a really impressive and solid season for Krista Gerlich and her Texas Tech women’s basketball team.

They have a lot to be proud of. As do several other teams in the Big 12. Except, you know, a few teams towards the bottom of the standings. They’ve struggled this year. In some pretty dreadful ways. And there’s a ton of room for growth for those folks.

Big 12 women’s basketball standings, February 28: Texas Tech sits at No. 4 in a tie with Oklahoma State and Colorado

Here’s what the Big 12 standings look like for the women’s basketball teams across the conference as we head into the final set of games before the Big 12 women’s basketball tournament.

  • TCU Horned Frogs (26-4 overall, 14-3 Big 12)
  • West Virginia Mountaineers (23-6 overall, 13-4 Big 12)
  • Baylor Bears (23-6 overall, 13-4 Big 12)
  • Texas Tech Lady Raiders  (23-6 overall, 11-6 Big 12)
  • Oklahoma State Cowgirls (22-8 overall, 11-6 Big 12)
  • Colorado Buffaloes (20-9 overall, 11-6 Big 12)
  • Arizona State Sun Devils (22-8 overall, 9-8 Big 12)
  • Iowa State Cyclones(21-8 overall, 9-8 Big 12)
  • Utah Utes (18-11 overall, 9-8 Big 12)
  • BYU Cougars (19-10 overall, 8-9 Big 12)
  • Kansas Jayhawks (18-11 overall, 8-9 Big 12)
  • Kansas State Wildcats (15-15 overall, 8-9 Big 12)
  • Cincinnati Bearcats (11-18 overall, 6-11 Big 12)
  • Arizona Wildcats (12-16 overall, 3-14 Big 12)
  • UCF Knights (10-18 overall, 2-15 Big 12)
  • Houston Cougars (7-21 overall, 1-16 Big 12)

On Saturday, we’re going to get a chance to see Kansas face Oklahoma State, Colorado meet up with BYU, and then Arizona facing off against Utah. Given how Colorado and Oklahoma State are both tied with Texas Tech right now, it’d be great to see them lose and give the Lady Raiders a shot at locking up that No. 4 spot in the standings with ease.
