Keeping key West Texas recruits at home has always been a priority for the Texas Tech football program. That's especially true for those that come from the South Plains.

Now, one of the state's top 2026 wide receivers calls Wolfforth, Frienship home, and he is a massive target for the Red Raiders. Chase Campbell, a 4-star talent, might, in fact, be the No. 1 recruit that head coach Joey McGuire is targeting in the current recruiting cycle.

Now, Tech has secured a summer visit from Campbell. However, there are a number of other schools that he will see in the upcoming months as well.

According to Mike Roach of 247Sports, Campbell will be all over the country this summer as he tries to make his college decision. While he will be at Tech on June 15, he will also visit Arkansas (May 30), Tennessee (June 2), North Carolina (June 6), Utah (June 10), Kansas State (June 13), Oklahoma State (June 18), and Baylor (June 20).

As you can see from that list of schools, Campbell is a highly coveted player. In addition to the programs mentioned above, he also has offers from the likes of Arizona, Arizona State, Missouri, Houston, Ole Miss, SMU, TCU, and Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder is rated by 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 138 overall player in the nation and the No. 21 player in Texas. Last season, he hauled in 82 passes for 1,511 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Of course, Texas Tech has quite the reputation for producing big-time wide receivers, a tradition that now dates back a quarter of a century. This season, Tech will see two senior receivers, Reggie Virgil (an offseason transfer addition from Miami, OH) and Caleb Douglas play major roles before exhausting their eligibility.

Thus, continually adding to the wide receiver room will be imperative as Tech tries to find the next group of playmakers on the outside. Hopefully, Campbell will decide to stay close to home and become the next star pass catcher in Lubbock.
