While Caleb Douglas was only with the Texas Tech Red Raiders for a couple of seasons, it’s clear that his time playing on the Texas Tech football team had a pretty significant impact on the trajectory of his career. The talented wide receiver wasn’t able to really do much when playing for the Florida Gators.

After he left Gainesville, however, things changed in a drastic fashion.

It’d be fair to say that Douglas’ career took off when he made it out to Lubbock because after two strong seasons with the Red Raiders full of really solid performances that showcased his talents, Douglas is now ready to compete in the 2026 Senior Bowl on Saturday to work on further improving his stock for the 2026 NFL Draft.

As Douglas caps his time with Texas Tech with this Senior Bowl invitation, it’s worth remembering that he is one of five Red Raiders present in Mobile (and also one of two Texas Tech wide receivers in the 2026 Senior Bowl).

During his time in Gainesville, Douglas only managed to catch 21 passes for a total of 308 yards and three touchdowns. When he made it to Texas Tech, things took a completely different turn for the talented wide receiver.

During the 2024 breakout season for Douglas, he managed to catch 60 passes for 877 yards and six touchdowns.

In 2025, as the Red Raiders made their run to the College Football Playoff while dealing with various different injuries at quarterback, Douglas managed to lead Texas Tech in receiving yards and touchdowns with 846 yards and seven touchdowns. Along with that, Douglas proved he was a dangerous downfield threat as he turned just 54 receptions into those 846 receiving yards.

It’ll be fascinating to see what Douglas is able to do with the Senior Bowl platform and what sort of NFL Draft interest he can generate. There’s a ton of talent there and he demonstrated that in Lubbock.
