Well, it looks like it might just take a little bit more convincing to remind people that the Texas Tech Red Raiders have a team that could be a College Football Playoff contender.

It shouldn’t surprise anyone, but that road loss against the Arizona State Sun Devils from a couple weeks back may have impacted the way people are viewing this Red Raider football team and what Texas Tech’s ceiling might just be this season.

And as it turns out, beating a one-win Oklahoma State Cowboys team isn’t exactly enough to get folks convinced that the Red Raiders are going to win the Big 12 and earn a spot in the College Football Playoff. It’s going to take a little bit more than that.

Until Texas Tech is able to do that, the Red Raiders are going to have to deal with getting a bowl projection that puts this Texas Tech football team in a matchup with a team like the Miami Hurricanes.

Shoutout to the Pop-Tarts Bowl

CBS Bowl Projections, Week 10: Texas Tech Red Raiders projected to meet up with Miami Hurricanes in Pop-Tarts Bowl

Like Texas Tech fans, there’s no way that Miami football fans would be thrilled to see their favorite team heading to Orlando instead of the College Football Playoff. And also like the Texas Tech football team, Miami lost a game it probably shouldn’t have and is now going to need a little help to get into its conference game.

It really would be interesting to see these two teams match up in a bowl game. I’m not someone who believes that the College Football Playoff is the only thing that matters about this sport. I’m genuinely, truly a fan of the bowl games and I’d love to see these two meet up.

I just know that with as much hype as both of these teams built and the amount of money that was spent on assembling these rosters, folks are going to want to see the Red Raiders and Hurricanes find a way into the College Football Playoff. Even if that is a little bit tricky at this point in the season.
