Following Texas Tech’s dominant shutout win over the West Virginia Mountaineers in Morgantown, West Virginia, the Red Raiders are now looking at heading to the Big 12 championship game to compete against the BYU Cougars.

And working under the assumption that the Red Raiders are able to beat BYU as they did previously when they met up in early November, then Texas Tech will be headed on to the College Football Playoff without any sorts of questions being asked about the Red Raiders belonging there.

That would be fun. Especially when you look at how Texas Tech has performed and where the Red Raiders could go in the College Football Playoff seeding. If you check in with CBS Sports and where they’ve got Texas Tech going, chances are you’re going to be a pretty big fan (as long as you’re a Texas Tech fan, that is).

College Football Playoff projections following Week 14: CBS Sports puts the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Cotton Bowl as the No. 4 seed

The College Football Playoff projections from CBS Sports place the Texas Tech Red Raiders as the No. 4 seed. That would put Texas Tech in the Cotton Bowl, which would be great, but there’s an extra element of this particular set of projections that is a little extra special.

With Texas Tech as the No. 4 seed in the College Football Playoff, the Red Raiders would get to meet up with the winner between No. 5 and No. 12 in the opening round of the College Football Playoff. And right now, following Week 14’s fun, that game would be between the Texas A&M Aggies and the North Texas Mean Green.

I want that. So much. That game, in the Cotton Bowl in Arlington, Texas, would be perfect. Give me a matchup between Texas Tech and either the Texas A&M Aggies or the North Texas Mean Green. Let’s get very Texas in this matchup, please.
