We now know who the Texas Tech Red Raiders will be meeting up with in the 2025 Big 12 championship game. After the Arizona State Sun Devils fell short against the Arizona Wildcats, both the BYU Cougars and the Red Raiders locked up their spots in the Big 12 championship game.
And that means we’re going to get a rematch between two of the most physically dominant Big 12 teams who are both seeking opportunities to compete in the College Football Playoff.
It’s going to be absolutely fascinating to see how this one plays out. And I’m not the only one interested in this game. We’ve got college football fans everywhere who are curious about what this game will end up looking like.

Unsurprisingly, BYU fans are pretty happy about this whole situation.

And it looks like they’re already trying to get tickets in Arlington for the matchup with the Red Raiders.
Does each school get an allotment of tickets? @BYUTickets

Texas Tech can’t afford to take this game lightly. The Cougars have been consistently impressive as a member of the Big 12 and they’ve definitely earned this shot at competing for a conference championship in this rematch.

And this is a great, fascinating question.
Will BYU get revenge

Texas Tech didn’t have too much trouble when the Red Raiders took on BYU back in Lubbock a few weeks back.
Shiel Wood’s defense locked down BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier, holding him to just 188 passing yards and a single touchdown against a pick. As a team, the Cougars managed to run for just 67 yards on 27 carries.
I have no clue if that sort of defensive dominance of BYU could be replicated. I also don’t know what we’ll see out of Texas Tech’s offense. Things seem to be getting better as Behren Morton gets healthier and healthier, but ideally the Red Raiders will be able to rest him a bit in the second half against West Virginia to help prep for this matchup.
