The first win after the end of the Kyle Whittingham era came to an end in a truly bizarre way has to feel pretty good for the Utah Utes and their fans.

There’s no way it doesn’t.

I’m sure that the Utes and Utah football fans are thrilled to see an end to this season with Utah getting an 11th victory and also for the new era to start with such a dominant win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Going out to Las Vegas and beating the Cornhuskers 44-22 in a game that probably could have been even more lopsided almost certainly felt fantastic for the Utes and their fans.

College football fans weigh in as the Utah Utes get a bowl win for the Big 12 and beat up on the Nebraska Cornhuskers in Las Vegas

Here’s what college football fans had to say about the Utes beating up on the former Big 12 team to deliver a bowl win for the Big 12 in the Las Vegas Bowl:

From a Big 12 perspective, this feels like a pretty big deal. Not only did a new Big 12 team go out and beat a former member of the Big 12, but also we got to see the Utes beat a couple of former Big 12 head coaches in Matt Rhule and Dana Holgorsen in the process. I mean, I’m a pretty big fan of Holgorsen, but that’s kinda big for the Big 12.

And for Utah, this win is noteworthy in a few different ways. The Utes got to start a new coaching era with a notable bowl win and then also the Utes went out and secured an 11th victory for just the fourth time in program history. That feels pretty big.

And now Utah can look forward towards its future. Maybe it’ll be good?

Not everyone is convinced about that though. We’ll see soon enough!
