Texas Tech got some significantly bad news Monday afternoon as it looks like the Red Raiders will be without the services of Quinten Joyner this season. Right now, reports are indicating that Joyner suffered a potentially season-ending knee injury.
And that’s awful to hear.
The talented running back got hurt in fall camp and we're just a couple of weeks away from the start of the 2025 college football season for Joey McGuire and the Red Raiders. Joyner was so close to the start of the season and now he won’t get a chance to play in it. When you factor in all of the hard work that he put in to get here on top of the already difficult situation that comes from getting hurt, it’s hard to be anything but sympathetic.

These sorts of injuries tend to get a lot of attention and Texas Tech has been generating plenty of attention lately. So, combine the two and you get plenty of college football fans sharing their thoughts (and several sharing words of support and frustration on behalf of Joyner as he now has to navigate recovering from this injury).

Folks, here’s how college football fans are reacting to the news that Joyner might have to miss this season due to his knee injury:

Injuries suck. Hoping for a full and speedy recovery.

Generally speaking, most folks were sympathetic and supportive and expressed their regrets that this situation happened. And that makes a lot of sense. Injuries are bad. That’s not a football thing, that’s a human thing. Injuries are bad. Pain bad. Supporting people who are dealing with an injury is a no-brainer.
We are getting an early reminder that the worst part about this game is when guys get hurt. 😔

Get well soon, Quinten https://t.co/akF9WIzHUD
Gut punch if true. Joyner had a better yard per attempt rushing than 86 FBS QBs had last year passing. https://t.co/teJ3VJy6SI

I mean, truly, we got to witness a great and substantial outpouring of support for Joyner following his injury. And that’s awesome. It’s the perfect sort of response to a young man that has worked hard to get to where he is now having to deal with an incredibly difficult setback.
But not everyone reacted that way. Not everyone was quick to support Joyner.
Too late for their weirdo cash cow booster to buy but a replacement?

Some folks had weird takes.
never want to see anyone get hurt, but this is "good news" for the Beavs.

This one was just kind of odd. It feels like an odd way of framing the whole deal.
Here’s to hoping that Joyner will be able to fully recover following this injury. These sorts of things are incredibly difficult to deal with and it’d be great if Joyner was able to steadily get back to full health.
