We’re talking about a season that, while Crabtree recorded just shy of 2000 receiving yards and 22 touchdown receptions off of 134 catches all on his own, Amendola provided another 109 receptions for 1245 yards and another half dozen touchdowns.

This duo catching passes from Graham Harrell provided Texas Tech with some of the most entertaining football in the country back in 2007. This offense set the standard for what a great passing attack can look like in any given year.
Texas Tech football history: Danny Amendola and Michael Crabtree each had over 1000 receiving yards for the Red Raiders in 2007
Throughout the year, Amendola managed to record several impressive performances. Take the game against Oklahoma State, where Amendola caught 14 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown on the Cowboys defense. Or the 12 receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown against UT-El Paso.
Then there’s the 11 receptions for 94 yards against the Missouri Tigers, the 10 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown against the SMU Mustangs, and the 10 receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown against the Iowa State Cyclone.
Time and time again, Amendola was open. Harrell would get him the ball. The Red Raiders would move down the field. It was a great arrangement for Mike Leach and Texas Tech.
This all happened while Crabtree was thriving as well. Amendola averaged 11.4 yards per reception and 95.8 receiving yards per game. It might sound a little silly to say, but it is true. This duo, I mean, they were really, really difficult to stop. It just didn't happen all that often.
