Gerry Glasco and the Texas Tech Red Raiders are having one heck of a season, objectively speaking. Truly, this is what Texas Tech softball fans wanted to see from the Red Raiders in his second season after all of the fantastic moments from his first season. Texas Tech has already won the Big 12 and the Red Raiders are just one win away from getting 50 regular season wins.
But the Texas Tech softball team isn’t the only Big 12 team set to play on Friday. There’s a few games (five, to be exact) and all of them will be streamed on ESPN+.
Let’s go ahead and take a look at the schedule for Friday’s slate of games as Texas Tech aims to get another conference series win when facing the Baylor Bears in Game 2.
Friday’s Big 12 softball slate features 5 Big 12 conference matchups after Texas Tech beat Baylor on Thursday night
- UCF Knights vs Iowa State Cyclones - 4 p.m.
- Baylor Bears vs Texas Tech Red Raiders - 6 p.m.
- Arizona Wildcats vs Utah Utes - 6 p.m.
- Kansas Jayhawks vs Oklahoma State Cowgirls - 6 p.m.
- Arizona State Sun Devils vs BYU Cougars - 7 p.m.
Friday’s schedule gets started as the UCF Knights hit the road to play in Ames, Iowa. UCF, at 36-14-1 overall and 12-8-1 in Big 12 play, has been really solid as a whole and a team that’s been fun to keep up with. Iowa State, meanwhile, has had some really exciting moments. This could be a fun one for folks to watch.
At 6 p.m., we have a small handful of games happening. The Baylor Bears will look to stay alive in this series while a Texas Tech win would allow the Red Raiders to clinch another one.
At the same time that that’s happening in Lubbock, the Arizona Wildcats will be in Salt Lake City, Utah to meet up with the Utah Utes while trying to hold on to the No. 2 seed in the Big 12. Utah has a really impressive pitching staff and should not be taken lightly by anyone.
The Kansas Jayhawks will be in Stillwater at 6 p.m. to start a series that could be among the most interesting of the weekend as they face off against an Oklahoma State Cowgirls team that is looking to hold on to a strong spot in the standings.
And then the evening concludes as the Arizona State Sun Devils face off against the BYU Cougars, who have struggled to find any sort of success all season long.
