Look, if you’ve been paying any level of attention to college softball in recent years, I’m sure that you’re already aware that the Oklahoma Sooners have been really, really good and have won a lot of games on a very regular basis. We’re in the midst of an OU softball dynasty. That’s more than fair to acknowledge and talk about.

I mean, this season, we’re talking about a team that didn’t lose a game until the month of March was nearly over. We’re talking about a team that has a grand total of seven losses so far this year. This is a team and a program that is used to absolutely processing opponents and grinding them into paste.

So, it shouldn’t shock anyone that Oklahoma made the (very short) trip to Oklahoma City to compete in the 2025 Women’s College World Series. And they did so in what certainly appeared to be a very effortless fashion.

Let’s talk about how the Oklahoma Sooners made it to Oklahoma City for the Women’s College World Series once again.

2025 Women’s College World Series team profile: How did Oklahoma make it to Oklahoma City?

Oklahoma started the season by winning literally every single game in February. They just rolled right over folks like they’re used to doing. OU just couldn’t be stopped. And once the Sooners got into March, there really weren’t many challenges for them in that month either.

And then the Missouri Tigers broke Oklahoma’s winning streak somehow on March 22. It was weird. Just a bizarre game for the Sooners. And Oklahoma responded by winning a couple more games before dropping a series against the Tennessee Lady Vols.

Which was less shocking given that Tennessee is very, very good as well this season. Oh! And OU also lost a series against Alabama. The Sooners would respond to that by later sweeping the Texas Longhorns, dropping a series against the Florida Gators and then moving on into the postseason, where they’ve been unstoppable once more. OU hasn’t lost lately and the Sooners look really, really good right now.
