With the Iowa State Cyclones coming to town for a three-game Big 12 series, Gerry Glasco and the Texas Tech Red Raiders are gearing up to take on a team that has a five-game winning streak. But, well, Texas Tech is riding a six-game winning streak of its own. And the Red Raiders have looked pretty dang impressive as of late.
Which makes sense. After all, Texas Tech was the national runner up and managed to reload in a pretty impressive way over the offseason. The Red Raiders have the sort of talent to be able to get back to Oklahoma City for the Women’s College World Series and they’re showing that this season.

At the moment, Texas Tech sits at the top of the Big 12 with the Red Raiders owning that 8-1 Big 12 record. This series against Iowa State will provide Gerry Glasco and the Texas Tech softball team the opportunity to continue to build upon that lead over the rest of the conference.
And this weekend, while Texas Tech faces off against Iowa State, we’re going to see the continued pitching excellence of NiJaree Canady and Kaitlyn Terry, who have combined to absolutely dominate for the Red Raiders. If they can continue to play at the level that they have this season, we’ll see that gap between Texas Tech and the rest of the league widen even further.
