After easily taking the first game of the series against the Iowa State Cyclones, Gerry Glasco and the No. 2 Texas Tech Red Raiders are ready to face off with the intention of winning the series. When I write that Texas Tech was able to easily win the first game, I mean that Texas Tech was able to easily win the first game.

Game one was done in just five innings thanks to a run-rule win for the Red Raiders. In the game one matchup with the Cyclones, NiJaree Canady was dominant, striking out eight batters on just 76 pitches. Iowa State managed a grand total of two hits against Texas Tech.

Now, Texas Tech is in position to get another win and claim another series, which will expand the gap that currently exists between the Red Raiders and the rest of the Big 12 to be even further.

Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Iowa State Cyclones game 2: Start time, how to stream, everything you need to know

Here’s what you need to know as Texas Tech faces Iowa State:

  • Who: No. 2 Texas Tech Red Raiders (32-2 overall, 9-1 Big 12) vs. Iowa State Cyclones (20-11 overall, 3-4 Big 12)
  • When: Saturday, March 278 at 2 p.m.
  • Venue: Tracy Sellers Field
  • Where: Lubbock, Texas
  • TV channel: ESPN+
  • Live stream: ESPN.com/watch

If Texas Tech does win this game (as I suspect the Red Raiders will), we’ll be looking at a gulf between the Texas Tech softball team and the rest of the Big 12 (which is enjoyable and something we shouldn’t take for granted).

Should the Red Raiders stumble in this game, then things might look a little interesting. Baylor is technically second in the conference standings with a 5-2 conference record right now, but Arizona has looked impressive and is 7-3 in conference play right now. Texas Tech has a great opportunity in front of it, the Red Raiders just need to continue to capitalize on that.
