Tonight, the Texas Tech basketball team has its second home game in a row when TCU comes to United Supermarkets Arena. The Red Raiders will be looking to extend their Big 12 winning streak to five games and stay in the conference championship race by moving to 7-2.

This will be the first of two meetings with the Horned Frogs this season. Tech will travel to Fort Worth on February 18.

Thus far, the Frogs are 10-9 on the season and 3-5 in Big 12 action. They have been an up-and-down team in 2024-25 with wins over Xavier, BYU, and Baylor (the win over the Bears was in Waco, by the way) but losses to Colorado State, Santa Clara, and Utah.

Earlier this season, TCU suffered a devastating injury when senior guard Frankie Collins was lost for the season with a broken foot. When he went down in mid-December, he was averaging a team-high 11.2 points per game to go along with 4.4 assists per game.

Partially because of that injury and partially because of their lack of firepower, TCU doesn't have a great offensive team. The Frogs average just 67.3 points per game, 14.6 less than the Red Raiders average. On defense, TCU is more competitive giving up 68.3 points per game which is 3.2 more than the Tech allows.

6-foot-3 senior guard Noah Reynolds is leading the Frogs in scoring at 12.3 points per game. He's coming off of an eight-point game against UCF in his last outing but prior to that, he had hit double figures in every one of his team's conference contests.

One interesting note about the Frogs is that they are undergoing a youth movement. They play up to five freshmen in their rotation, an unusually high number in today's era of college basketball.

This is another game that the Red Raiders will be expected to win. The ESPN.com matchup predictor gives the Red Raiders an 85.9% chance of prevailing.

However, we learned on Sunday, when a bad Oklahoma State team pushed the Red Raiders to the brink in Lubbock that no conference game can be taken for granted. What's more, Tech might be without the services of do-it-all forward Darrion Williams who is a game-time decision according to head coach Grant McCasland thanks to an ankle he rolled against the Cowboys.

After this game, the Red Raiders embark on a brutal three-game stretch that will see them travel to No. 6 Houston, host Baylor, and travel to Arizona. Therefore, making sure to put tonight's game in the win column is a must. And here's how Texas Tech fans can tune in to see if that happens.
