It’s a pretty good time to be a Texas Tech football fan right now. Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech Red Raiders just keep on thriving on the recruiting trail. This time, Texas Tech managed to continue building its recruiting momentum as the Red Raiders picked up a commitment from Chase Campbell, a 4-star wide receiver out of Wolfforth, Texas.
Campbell is among the most talented players in the state of Texas as part of the 2026 recruiting cycle and he’s currently the second-highest rated players in Texas Tech’s 2026 recruiting class. Interestingly enough, Campbell also happens to be the first wide receiver to commit to Texas Tech as part of the 2026 recruiting class.
According to 247 Sports, Campbell is the No. 20 rated wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting cycle and the No. 23 rated player in the state of Texas. So, yeah, he’s a pretty good addition for McGuire and the Red Raiders to get on board.
Joey McGuire and Texas Tech snag a commitment from 2026 4-star wide receiver Chase Campbell
Campbell committing to Texas Tech comes a few weeks after the talented wide receiver took a trip out to Waco, Texas for an official visit with the Baylor Bears.
Prior to that Jun 20 visit to the Bears, Campbell made a couple of other trips to some notable Big 12 teams, including the Oklahoma State Cowboys on June 18, the Texas Tech Red Raiders on June 15, the Kansas State Wildcats on June 13, and the Utah Utes on June 10.
Seems like that was a pretty big couple of weeks for the Big 12 teams that were trying to land Campbell.

But now Texas Tech has a commitment from him.
Yes, as I’ll often note with recruiting news this time of year we’ve got a little bit of time between now and signing day (and there are plenty of things that could happen between now and then), but this feels like a solid recruiting win for McGuire and Texas Tech (especially with all of the other recent recruiting success).
