Folks, this Texas Tech softball team is really good. And efficient. And they just keep winning games.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders just stretched their winning streak out to 10 games as they went over to Abilene and ended their game with the Abilene Christian Wildcats after just five innings. The No. 2 team in the country made quick work of ACU on Tuesday evening as Texas Tech rolled to a 9-1 win over the Wildcats.
Along the way, Kaitlyn Terry continued to thrive as she improved to 14-0 on the season and struck out eight batters along the way. Terry’s dominance both in the circle and at the plate have been a huge reason as to why the Red Raiders are able to keep winning this season. At the plate, Terry managed to go 2-for-3 and scored a couple runs.
Oh, and she stole a base. That’s pretty helpful too!

NiJaree Canady did enter the game in the fifth inning and was able to strike out all three of the batters that she faced with just 17 pitches. Canady has been just about unstoppable this year as she’s struck out 119 batters this season.
While Texas Tech was able to grab an early lead, it wasn’t until the third inning where things really got lopsided in the Red Raiders’ favor. Texas Tech was able to blow the game open with a seven-run third inning.
ACU did get on the scoreboard, but it wasn’t anywhere near enough. That lone run came in the fourth inning and that’s all the damage that the Wildcats were able to do.
Gerry Glasco’s Red Raiders have now won 10 consecutive games and currently sit at 35-2 overall and 11-1 against Big 12 competition. The Red Raiders will return to Lubbock and get set to meet up with the BYU Cougars starting on Thursday.
